SMS Privacy Policy

Applies to the BeyondCare Patient Notifications text message program. Effective August 26, 2026.

We do not sell, share, or provide your mobile phone number or your consent to receive text messages to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. No mobile information is shared with third parties for their own marketing.

How you join this program

BeyondCare Patient Notifications is a verbal opt-in program. You are asked in person at a BeyondCare location, or by phone with a BeyondCare scheduler at 844-567-9200, at the time your appointment is scheduled. There is no web sign-up form and we never add a number from any other source. Before taking your mobile number the scheduler asks whether you would like text messages and reads you this disclosure:

“BeyondCare would like to send you text messages at this mobile number. You will receive appointment reminders and confirmations, and a notice when an account balance is ready to pay. Message frequency may vary, typically 2 to 6 messages per month. Standard message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. This is optional and does not affect your care.”

Who we are

This program is operated by BeyondCare, 470 Johnson Road, Suite 140, Washington, PA 15301. This policy covers our text message program specifically. It sits alongside the BeyondCare privacy policy, which governs our services generally.

What we collect

  • Your mobile phone number.
  • Your name, so we can match messages to the right person.
  • A record of your consent — the date and time you agreed, how you agreed (in person or by phone), the version of the disclosure that was read to you, and which member of our team asked you.
  • The messages exchanged with you, and their delivery status.
  • Whether you have asked us to stop texting you.

How we use it

  • To send you appointment reminders and confirmations.
  • To let you know when a balance is ready to pay, and to send you a secure link to pay it.
  • To answer you when you reply to us.
  • To honor opt-out requests and to keep proof that you consented, which we are required to retain.

We do not use your number for marketing, and we do not use it for automated decision-making.

Who we share it with

We share your mobile number only with the service providers who deliver messages for us — our communications platform and the mobile carriers who carry the message to your phone. They may use it only to deliver our messages, not for their own purposes.

We may disclose information where the law requires it.

All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Health information

Text messages are not a secure or private channel. Anyone with access to your phone may be able to read them, and messages may pass through systems we do not control. For that reason we keep the content of our messages limited — an appointment time and place, or the fact that a balance is ready. We do not put diagnoses, treatment details, or clinical notes in a text message.

If you would prefer we contact you a different way, tell us and we will.

How long we keep it

We keep records of your consent and of your opt-out for at least four years, because we are required to be able to show that you agreed. Message content is retained only as long as needed to operate the program and meet our record-keeping obligations.

Your choices

Reply STOP, END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE or OPT OUT to any message. You may also call or email us — you are not required to reply by text. We will stop, and we will keep a record that you asked us to.

Opting out of texts does not affect your care, your appointments, or any other BeyondCare service.
